1998 Trek 6000, Size XL- Rock solid

Need a solid bike for getting around town or the hills? For sale: A smooth running, rock solid 1998 Trek 6000 mountain bike with Rock Shox Indy front suspension. 21" aluminum frame. Very well maintained-- you won't find a nicer bike at this price, guaranteed.

Have used this as a commuter bike here in Chicago, but I am leaving town and now need to sell it. This bike was made in the U.S.A., has 100% stock componentry, and is in awesome working condition. The frame has scuffs and scratches (14 year-old bike) but no dents/dings/cracks.

Mechanically, shifting and braking are flawless and the drivetrain has just been cleaned and lubed (I am particular about bikes riding quietly and shifting perfectly). No creaks or squeaks. STX rear deraileur, Sugino cranks. Rims are dead straight and V-brakes are very responsive. Rock Shox fork makes accidental pothole encounters less miserable. Original IRC Mythos tires have plenty of tread, indicating that the bike itself has relatively low mileage. Two water bottle cages and toe-clip pedals included.

I am 5' 11" and the bike fits me well, although I would not recommend it for anyone much shorter than me. 5' 11" to 6' 4" would be an ideal height range.
