Vintage Dual Suspension Manatou Answer Old School Son

Selling this bike for a friend. Neither of us are mountain bikers, but if you are looking at this, you probably already know what this is. It would be a great collectors item for someone who knows bike history and design. It is the vintage Manatou full suspension rig with suspension built into the chainstays. These only pop up on here once and a while, but never will you see one this clean. While it was in Tahoe, people surrounded it and mentioned to my friend that he shouldn't even be riding it, which he stopped doing that day because he didn't realize the significance of it.

Size appears to be around 18", or something in the medium or medium+ range.

My buddy is willing to trade for a full suspension trail, all mountain, or enduro-ish bike with 5"+ full suspension. Maybe even a lighter DH bike for someone around 6'2". Bike is located in Palo Alto, CA and was posted for sale with Mighty Mouse in San Francisco. They were asking a lot for it but likely too much because it did not sell, so I am trying to help him unload it here.

The rear chainstay is one of the original (if not the first) rear suspension designs ever created. Bike is in near flawless condition and was not ridden much. There are no cracks or dents on the frame. Drivetrain is full XTR, including wheelset. The dropper post is beyond my knowledge, but it does work perfectly and has a remote switch on the bars. Wheels are completely true. Saddle is San Marco Regal (I think) with copper rivets. It has been used so little that the brake pads are hardly used.

Packing and shipping will be done by a local bike shop, yours choice if requested. I can do it myself, however I don't want to bear the burden if something occurs during shipping. Pack and ship from the local shop here is $80 within the US. International might cost more. Pickup also available. .
