So, Damon and I are going to ride across Canada again this year. For those who don't know the back story, in 2010 Damon Allen rode from coast to coast (7,000 kms) to raise funds and awareness for kids cancer. He begged me to do the ride with him, and I declined. I declined again for 2011, and again in 2012, then one of the kids I'd met in 2010 died. The last I'd seen him he was a healthy, active, polite 14 year old kid. He didn't make his 17th birthday. When Damon asked again about the 2013 ride I said yes. Since then my life has changed, I've met so many kids fighting this terrible disease, some who win, and some who lose. I've ridden almost 20,000 kilometers through training and 1 1/3 rides (I did ride from here to Halifax this year). I've suffered a permanently disfiguring injury during training, and spent countless hours fundraising. All while trying to keep a somewhat normal home life. My bicycle (already used when I started this adventure) has seen better days, and a lightly used one of similar quality (newer and lighter of course) is going to cost me around $3,000 (I figure). I have this amazing JK Lado Rocker 50 electric guitar in like new condition. It has it's own hard case, and I've got a pretty cool Roland Cube 60 amp to make it very loud. The guitar is very rare, handmade in Canada by Master Luthier Joseph Kovacic. It's tone is incredible, the action light, and even I sound like a ROCK GOD playing it. I am sad to say I would trade this beautiful instrument for a bike, but something has to go, and my current bike belongs to a good friend who gave it to me on the condition that I never sell it, should the day come when I get rid of the bike, it is his, and he wants it back. Please share this with all of your friends, musical or not, for this an instrument of charity, a gift that will multiply, a note that will ring across this great land and bring happiness to all who hear it. The name of the charity I ride for is Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, the can be found on the internet at www.coasttocoastagainstcancer.org.
I'm looking for something along the lines of a Specialized Tarmac, Giant TCR, Scott Addict etc. with 11 spd Ultegra or equivalent.
