The Cannondale Claymore is the perfect bike for someone who wants an incredibly versatile bike that can be pedaled, shuttled, ride xc trails and bike parks. The heart of the bike is the incredible Fox DYAD shock that is custom developed by Fox Racing Shox for Cannondale. With a quick flick of the handlebar remote you can go from "Climb" mode with 110mm of travel and XC shock-like feel to "Descend" mode with 180mm of travel and a much more plush coil shock-like feel. It also changes the geometry by every time you make the switch.
I have ridden this bike in many places, but the reality is, it is way too much bike for my location. It gobbles up rough sections and loves to go fast down steep trails. My locality has neither. If you have significant elevation change nearby, this is a tremendously fun and playful bike that will bring a grin ear to ear, especially on the way down!
This bike has a 1x10 drivetrain with an extended range cog installed. This bike has the ONE-UP 42 and 16 tooth cogs installed to make climbing easier and keep good spacing between gears. It works incredibly well. I haven't lost a chain with the Race Face Narrow-Wide chainring. The drivetrain is extraordinarily quiet (except for the loud beehive sound of the Hope rear hub!) and shifts very cleanly and quickly across the full range. Gearing in the rear is: 11-13-16-19-22-25-28-32-36-42.
I take very good care of my equipment. The frame has only very few, very small, rock chips on the downtube but otherwise is very clean and scratch/dent free. The fork has scrapes on the right lower leg and two very small nicks on the stanchion from laying the bike down one time. The nicks on the stanchion were smoothed out carefully have not caused any oil leaks or unusual wear on the seals of the fork.
The Fox 36 180mm fork was upgraded to a an RC2 damper (high/low speed compression adjust, rebound adjust) and has the new Fox 20wt "Gold" bath oil to keep things sliding like they should.
The wheels were custom build by a local shop. They run very true and have no flat spots or dents. These have been incredibly good wheels.
