2004 Specialized Epic Marathon (medium)

This was Specialized's next-from-the-top XC race rig in 2004 (second only to S-Works model). It features inertial valves on the fork and shock, so it rides like a hardtail, with virtually no pedal-induced suspension movement, until it hits something, then the suspension goes active - so it climbs like a mountain goat. You can dial in whatever bump threshold you want for the fork and shock to go active, based on terrain and your preferences. Well-maintained, the usual scratches and wear from use. Everything is working well. Brand new chain and brake pads. Stock specs listed below. Upgrades from stock: Thomson Elite stem, PUSH rebuild on fork, Kenda Nevegal 26x2.35 tires, ODI lock-on grips.

Studded tires available: Suomi (Nokian) Hakka WXC 300 tires 26x2.2. With 300 studs, these things stick to ice like glue. Only used a few times. $100
