2014 Küat Sherpa Platform Rack - Rare White Finish

For sale is a Kuat Sherpa in rare white powder coated finish.

If you’re looking at this ad then you know how good and rare Kuat racks are in Canada. Especially in the limited-run white finish.
The Sherpa is a dedicated 2-bike rack, for road, hybrid, touring and mountain bikes. It can accommodate downhill DH bikes that are sub 40 pounds. It is an all aluminum construction which results in a feather weight of only 25 pounds. This can easily be installed and manouvered with one hand.

This rack fits both 1.25” and 2.0” hitch receivers. It is natively 1.25” and will come with the aluminum 2.0” adaptor. Also included is the original hitch pin, cylinder lock, two keys, Kuat anodized orange key ring/bottle opener, and Kuat 6’ security cable, and the original hemp baggie that all the accessories were delivered in. What is NOT included from original is the 20” wheel adaptor. This broke the first time I tried using it. I never bothered replacing it. They are about $10 USD to replace if you really need it.

I am the original owner and I have used this rack for 3 seasons and it has faithfully delivered on its promise of being a lightweight, simple, well thought-out rack. And customer service is amazing. You will see that one rear wheel tray is brand new never used. I broke the strap in storage this winter. Kuat didn’t have the “grey” wheel holder available for order on their website (only black), so when I asked them if this colour was available, they apologized that the strap broke and sent me a free replacement with free shipping. Amazing customer service.

The rack was never used in the winter. Summer only. And stored in the garage most of the time when not in use. Combined with the fact that it is mostly aluminum, you will see from the pictures that there is essentially no corrosion/rust/etc. at all. Just a little corrosion on the non-aluminum hardware.
The only reason I am selling is that I got a fat bike with true 4.8” tires for this upcoming winter season and this rack will only fit up to 29+ x 3” tires. So I regrettably have to part with this rack to get something that will fit 4.8” tires.

Price is firm. I am NOT in a rush to get rid of this rack, so no lowball offers please. Lowball offers will not be responded to. If I don’t respond to you, you know why. This rack sells for $600+ Tax CAD ($678 total). And there are no Kuat Racks even listed on Kijiji (Ontario) and one on Pinkbike (in North Vancouver).
