What does Chasing Trail mean to you? Avid wants to know. Actually, we want to see. Show us by submitting a video, and you could win some amazing prizes including Avid Elixir 9 Trail brakes on a new Giant Trance X with and SRAM set-up.

Here's how it works: Shoot, edit and submit your video of two minutes or less.
The theme is simple: Chasing Trail. It doesn't matter if you're a racer or just getting started - we want you to tell us a story about what pursuit of the perfect mountain bike trail means to you.

A panel of world-class riders will choose the finalists. Winners will be announced on July 12. In addition to the prizes listed below, we'll give away a set of Avid Elixir 9 Trail brakes in a random drawing. Good luck!

ELIGIBILITY/TIMING

Avid’s Chasing Trail Contest (the “Contest” is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Florida, New York and Rhode Island) who are at least 19 years of age at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, its prize provider(s), and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, wholesale distributors and individual retail licensees, as well as the immediate family and household members of each are ineligible. The Contest is void in Florida, New York and Rhode Island and elsewhere where prohibited by law. The Contest will begin at 12:00 a.m. (PDT) on April 16, 2013 and entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. (PDT) on July 5, 2013 (the "Contest Period"). The Contest is subject to all federal, provincial, state and local laws and regulations.

HOW TO ENTER

No purchase necessary. There is one way to enter. To enter, during the Contest Period, simply visit the web site located at https://www.pinkbike.com/contest/avid-chasingtrail (the “Website”), create a user account by following the instructions found on the site or use your existing user account. Entrants will be required to submit (i) certain personal information including, but not limited to, the entrant’s name, email address, and mailing address; and (ii) a two minute or less video that you feel best represents Chasing Trail (entry personal information and video shall be collectively referred to as the “Entry Materials”). Entry videos must be recorded at the highest resolution possible. Entrants may be asked to submit a high-resolution file or an original negative, print or slide. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entrants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution video. Once the video has been uploaded, complete all required information on the pop-up window and click ‘submit’. Upon completion, one (1) automatic entry into the Contest will be provided to the entrant.

Limited to one entry per user account and limited to one entry per person. Entries will not be returned or acknowledged.

All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Official Rules may be disqualified by Sponsor. Sponsor, prize providers and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, licensees, contractors, distributors, suppliers, sales representatives, retailers, advertising or promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (collectively, the "Releasees") are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, delayed, damaged, destroyed, incomplete, postage-due, misdirected, unintelligible, returned, or undelivered entries or mail, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite or cable hard ware or software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, for typographical or other production errors, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network. Releasees are not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising the Contest.

PRIVACY

By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information for the purposes of administering the Contest. Sponsor will collect, use and disclose personal information in accordance with their privacy policy, which can be found at http://www.sram.com/privacy-policy and these Official Rules.

OFFICIAL RULES

The Contest will be administered in accordance with these Official Rules. By entering, entrants agree to be bound these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and the judges, which shall be final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Contest. If any provisions of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.

ENTRY MATERIALS

For criteria used in judging the videos, see the Judging section below.

By entering the Contest, entrants represent and warrant that the Entry Materials are original works of authorship of the submitting entrant and/or are owned solely by the submitting entrant and do not infringe the rights of any third party.

All Entry Materials must conform to Sponsor’s standards and practices, and may not be offensive, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, nor can they defame or invade the publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights of any person living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s rights. Entry Materials may not disparage Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries or affiliates or any of their respective employees, products or services.

Entry Materials must be in good taste (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) and may not contain nudity, obscenity, profanity, indecent material, lewd acts, references to violence, or demean any gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Entry Materials that contain third party materials (other than those of Sponsor or its licensors), or otherwise violate or infringe (or may infringe) any copyright, trademark, logo, mark that identifies a brand or other proprietary right of any person living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) or entity, or are otherwise objectionable will not be considered. All Entry Materials must be the sole, original work of the entrants.

Entrants must have the permission of all persons or models appearing in their Entry Materials to use their image, likeness, voice, and other intellectual property rights for this Contests and to grant such rights to Sponsor in accordance with these Official Rules.


All content submitted by entrants may be posted by Sponsor and by its agents and representatives, to public viewing galleries and may also be used on other Sponsor owned website to promote the Contest.

By entering, entrants grant a perpetual, royalty-free and worldwide license to Sponsor of all intellectual property rights in the Entry Materials. Pursuant to the license granted herein, entrants agree that Sponsor shall have the right to use, edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, promote, display, distribute, perform, assign and otherwise use Entry Materials in any way they see fit, in connection with the Contest, without compensation to entrants.




JUDGING

On or about July 5, 2013, up to up to five (5) entry videos will be chosen from among all eligible entries received by a judging panel and loaded on www.pinkbike.com. The judges will be World Class athletes and Sponsor representatives. The selection of the submissions will be at the sole discretion of the judges and will be based on the criteria of how well they represent Chasing Trail. Decisions of the judges will be final and binding.

VOTING

From 10:00:00 a.m. (PST) on July 3, 2012 to 11:59:59 p.m. (PST) on July 13, 2012 (the “Voting Period”), the public will be invited to log on to https://www.pinkbike.com/contest/deepsummer/and cast votes for their favorite video.

Users may vote for more than one video, however users may only cast one vote for a given video during the Voting Period. It is a violation of these Official rules to clear the cache on your computer, or clear the cookies, to enable voting in violation of these Official Rules. Voting must be manual. No bots, script, macro, robotic or other automated voting is allowed. Purchasing of votes is strictly prohibited. Entrants are also prohibited from voting for their own entries. If Sponsor determines, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, that any entrant and/or IP address exhibits a voting pattern suggestive of any conduct in violation of these Official Rules, including, but not limited to, automated voting or purchasing votes, then Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify that entrant and/or block that IP address from further voting during the Voting Period and to eliminate the votes cast by that IP address. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the voting, or at its option, select the winner by an alternate means if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, the voting becomes technically or otherwise corrupted. Releasees are not responsible for any injury or damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in the Contest and/or voting.

WINNER SELECTION

On or about July 14, 2012, the votes will be counted and the entrant who submitted the one (1) video with the most votes will be the potential Grand Prize Winner. The entrants who submitted the two (2) videos with the second and third highest number of votes will be the potential Second Prize Winners. The entrants who submitted the two (2) videos with the third and fourth highest number of votes will be the potential Third Prize Winners.

ALL POTENTIAL WINNING ENTRIES ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR, WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING. AN ENTRANT IS NOT A WINNER OF ANY PRIZE, EVEN IF THE GAME SHOULD SO INDICATE, UNLESS AND UNTIL ENTRANT’S ELIGIBILITY AND THE POTENTIAL WINNING ENTRY HAS BEEN VERIFIED, ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN RETURNED AND ENTRANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT VERIFICATION IS COMPLETE. SPONSOR WILL NOT ACCEPT SCREEN SHOTS OR OTHER EVIDENCE OF WINNING IN LIEU OF ITS VALIDATION PROCESS. ANY ENTRY OR VOTING THAT OCCURS AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED FOR ANY REASON IS DEEMED A DEFECTIVE ENTRY OR VOTE, IS VOID, AND WILL NOT BE HONORED.

NOTIFICATION

Potential Winners will be notified by email and/or phone on or about July 14, 2013.

Before being declared a winner of any prize, the selected entrant will be required to sign a declaration and release form (the “Release Documents”) confirming compliance with these Official Rules and acceptance of prizes as offered; acknowledging the non-responsibility of Releases with respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the prize; and (except where prohibited by law) acknowledging Sponsor’s and it agents’ right to publish or broadcast the winner’s picture, name, address, voice and statements without charge or further compensation other than the prize offered.

Potential Winners must return completed Release Documents to Sponsor within five (5) days of prize notification. Potential winners must also provide completed and executed Release Documents for any other individuals included in the Entry Materials within five (5) days of prize notification. In the event of noncompliance within the stated response times, potential winner will be disqualified and prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected as set forth below. Any prize notification or prize returned to the Sponsor or its agents as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the awarding of that prize to an alternate winner as set forth below. If a potential winner can’t be reached, does not complete, sign and return the Release Documents by the designated time, or is for any other reason deemed to be disqualified or ineligible, then that potential winner will forfeit the prize and another potential winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received until such time that all prizes have been successfully awarded.

Winner may waive their right to receive a prize. All prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable, and not redeemable for cash and must be accepted by the winner as awarded. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded, consisting of a Giant Trance X with Avid Elixir 9 Trail brakes and SRAM set-up (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”):___$4,923____________)

Two (2) Second Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a set of Avid Elixir 9 Trail brakes (ARV: _____$676__________)

Two (2) Third Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a set of Avid Elixir 7 Trail brakes (ARV: __________$504_____)

No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming, or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

All expenses relating to acceptance and use of a prize that are not explicitly listed herein as being awarded, including, but not limited to, equipment maintenance expenses and payment of taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes will be awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied offered by Sponsor.

WINNERS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT PRIZES ARE AWARDED AS-IS. RELEASEES MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, LEGAL COMPLIANCE WITH RESPECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS OR NONINFRINGEMENT AS REGARDS TO THE PRIZES OR ANY COMPONENTS OF THE PRIZES. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, AS SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS OF EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES.

Releasees are not responsible for damage to a prize or loss of a prize after the prize has been claimed.

RELEASE: By entering the Contest or the acceptance or use of any prize, entrants hereby waive and release, and agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless, the Releasees, from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim, or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Contest or resulting directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize awarded in connection with the Contest (including any travel or mountain biking related thereto), including, without limitation, personal injury, death, and/or property damage, as well as claims based on publicity rights, defamation, and/or invasion of privacy. By entering the Contest, entrants also agree to fully indemnify the Releasees and hold each of them harmless from any and all claims costs, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest, including any use of the prizes, by any third parties.

Releases are not responsible for: (a) any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail entry or vote to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer, related to or resulting from playing or downloading materials in this promotion; (b) any incomplete or inaccurate information, whether caused by the website users or by any equipment of programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries or votes; or (c) the theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, votes or websites. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest should a virus or bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered the entrant. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid email account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid online entry in the Contest will be Sponsor’s timekeeping device.

By entering the Contest, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the Official Rules.

Rules Request. To obtain a hard copy of these Official Rules, send a SASE (“Self-Addressed, Stamped Envelope”) by July 30, 2013 to: SRAM Marketing 1333 N. Kingsbury, 4th Floor , Chicago, Illinois 60622.

Winner Confirmation. For the name of the winners and their state of residence, hand print your name and complete address on a SASE and mail it to: SRAM Marketing 1333 N. Kingsbury, 4th Floor , Chicago, Illinois 60622. Requests must be received by July 30, 2013.

This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted.
