They may have a few mountain bikes (mostly just low to mid level giants), but they are not what most people would consider a mountain bike shop. If you are in quick need of a tube, tire or other small item they may have it. They refuse to have anything tubeless related because they don't think it works. . .they sell a lot of bmx bikes, but getting any information out of the 2 guys that are into bmx is like pulling teeth because both are either really shy or too cool to bother talking about bmx with noobs, either way I don't bother with the store, I just wait the 2-5 days it takes to get something via the Interwebs.

If you are really into road biking and cyclocross then this may be your store, especially if you are okay with paying full retail and not having much selection.

I'd recommend you go back and give them a second chance sometime. It may not be an MTB only store but they know the needs of their local community, if you are looking for downhill goggles, pricey forks, and a full face helmets you'd be better served up the hill in Mammoth.

The shop is under new ownership and caters to all types of cyclists, but does sell mountain bike merchandise and is a great place to have service done, pick up some tubes (or have them convert your wheels to tubeless), and get beta on where to get out and ride. Chris and his staff are super friendly and helpful. They are a small shop so inventory is limited so you will see mostly Giants and Surly's on their floor but they will order and build you anything you need.

The most honest bike shop I’ve ever been to. They will give you straight talk when it comes to your bike and never try to unnecessarily upsell you. They do great work and can handle high to low end. They have way better rates than the tourist focused shops in mammoth.

The owner is great and I have had good experiences with them. I mainly just do bike fixes with them, which are great, but they also have a decent selection of products for a small town store that caters to all bike types.
