Anyone know if its possible to put a 2013 giant reign linkages and swing arm onto a trance x? im looking to get more travel out of my bike and i cant put a longer shock on it so i was wondering if i replaced the back end with a longer travel bike would it be able to work?
Yeah, terrible idea. Don't mess with the geometry if the bike dude. 1) it automatically voids any sort of warranty and 2) the frame was never intended for those kind of stresses.
Alright thanks, guess I'll just save up for a specialized demo or giant glory

Here's a picture of my Trance after a full day of park riding at Bromont (Local DH mountain) With 160mm of travel up front and the Monarch plus I put on it, it really made it a much more capable machine!

Rode Bromont on my 160mm Trance and had an awesome time. My SR Suntour Auron and RockShox Monarch Plus RC3 worked beautifully.

Rode my trance today. First real mtb ride all year. Really forget how capable it is on downs and how well it can climb all day, too.

I know. Can't wait till mine dies so I can get another one. I know it isn't the best for seceding, but it still is good in my opinion. I have a road that I start and finish on, and I haul ass down it with no brakes everytime I ride it. I just wish I had a fork with thru axle on it. But even that still doesn't bug me too much. Pretty sure my HA sits at like 68.5 or less. Pretty good for an '09 trance I think.

Thanks, my goal was to make a bike that was light enough to do long trail rides but still be built up enough to ride downhill. I think I got it good on this bike. Also helps that the frame is slacker and can accept a 140-160mm fork.

For those of you who are interested in how the new Trance 27.5 preforms on the downhills, I made a little video from last week.

A quick question, I'm about to have a look at the 2014 Trance 4, what size should I go for as a 183-184cm guy (~6 foot)?
