Thanks for the help ploutre. We had the rebound and spring backwards which caused obvious problems but we got it done and its running smoothly now. thanks again.
so much for running smoothly, i took my bike out for its first real ride today and the rebound was awful. i adjusted the rebound knob and played with the settings but it would not pop off of anything and i ended up going over the handlebars because of it. the sag seems to be a bit too much, when i get on the bike its nearly compresses 40-50%. can anyone help me out?
When using the rebound knob, did you feel any clicks when turning ? One thing also, did you put the right screw under the right leg ?
I mean on the rebound side, you have a screw with a hole in its center (to allow the rebound knob to get to the rebound rod). On the spring side, you just get a normal screw. Don't worry, it may sound dumb, but I've seen it so many times with people servicing their own RS fork that I'm not surprised any longer If you do feel clicks when turning the knob, are you sure you put the right amount of oil on top of the right leg ? Rockshox says 200mL of 5W oil (doesn't matter much if it's more since you have a 302, without compression adjustment; for those who will read that WITH the MotionControl damper, do NOT put more than 200mL ... actually I'm not even sure you'll be able to put the MoCo damper with the excess of oil leaking on top). If you have less than 200mL, the red part of the rebound mechanism (don't know its name) would be out in the air, and wouldn't slow down anything ... (check that the oil didn't leak in the bottom leg!)
Finally for the SAG, having serviced the fork shouldn't have done anything to it. Except if the fork wasn't working well before: if it was hard to compress it before, it could be just because the oil was really old and no oil/grease anywhere where there should be some to lubricate the fork. Now you serviced it, it's all running smooth, and you might actually discover that you have a spring too soft for your weight (I don't know, just pointing out ideas)
Check that the rebound rod is in place and that your knob is actually doing anything to the rebound (the clicks, something like 20ish in total) If it is, check the oil level on the rebound side (and that all the oil didn't go into the right lowers). If it has gone bad, well not much you can do apart from checking with your lbs or any company (tftuned in the US for example) that could service the fork, including seals and stuff.
i was hoping that it was just a misplaced knob but i have them in the correct place. i haven't been brave enough to take it apart to see if any oil spills out though. i dont want to go through this again... haha
so i decided to take it apart to see what was going on. i think i found a small leak where the rebound knob was. i took the lowers off to check to see if any more fluid was leaking through but didn't find any. i had a quick question though. should the piston rod be able to move up and down freely in the stanchion tube? i can move it fairly easily with just my hand. sorry for all of the questions.
If the rebound is set to fastest, then there is like no friction. But if it's normally set, then you can push the rod in easily (it's a rebound damper, not compression, so it doesn't slow down anything on compression), but it should be slower when pulling out.
As for the small leak, it could just be some oil that was on the threadings and that got outside. Best way to check for a leak is to leave the bike/fork somewhere for a few days, and then check back if there are any signs of oil on the ground/on the fork.
does anyone know what compression cartridge is being used as i want to install one in my domain forks but not clear on which cartridge i need i have found some but cant figure it out?? any help will be great. cheers

Its for 35mm stanchions, the same one for boxxer 2010
Mmmm not so sure about being the same as Boxxers, remember it's steel stanchions, and not aluminium, so it probably won't be the same internal diameter.
I recently brought a 2008 turner dhr and i have noticed that there is oil leaking from the top of the forks(boxxer rockshox team) and as i dont have local bike shop i dont know if the problem is serious or not can anyone heip me
I want to change my spring to a harder one, do i just undo the stanchion at the top (left side) with the 24mm and take the old one out and drop the new one in??

I noticed that in Rock Shox 2011 Domain manual it states different oil measurements for both the damper and in the legs. This forum says 200ml for the damper but the manual says 370ml for a Domain R and 325 ml for a Domain RC. Then for the legs this forum says 15ml in each, yet the manual states 40ml in the non-drive side (spring side) and 10ml in the drive side (damper side). Is there a reason that this forum has different measurements or is this a mistake? Please help as I would like to know before I put the wrong amount of oil into my fork.
