Hi, guys!
Anyone ride summum with 32t chainring? is it ok??

Rode the Red Bull Fox Hunt last summer and made a frankenstein bike of my Summum/Foxy and ran a 32 tooth ring. Worked absolutely fine. Although, unless you have a dh track locally with a big pedally section I fail to see the point rea;lly. Think that's what Stuey was referring to above, not that it would be too small for the frame, but that you'd be spinning like a mad man.

32 would be fine, if your running the seven speed with the 10 tooth.

Does anyone have a good way to guide the cables through the frame? It's such an ordeal I'm considering getting a frame without internal cable routing. I have to spend 5 f*cking hours fiddling with this useless system every time I want to change a cable housing. Yes I could take out the moto foam to make it easier, but then have a bike that sounds like a cowbell. I'm annoyed to no end.

My reverb stealth from my xc bike came with a double ended barb that I use for threading internal cables on my summum. Maybe you can pick them up on their own?

buy tubes like these:

they are meant for water in boats or something, you can find them in many different dimensions at your local boatstuff-shop etc. I pulled one on each of my cables and it was a pain in the ass to fit, but with a thread, a vaccuum cleaner and some tape it went fine. and after that replacing cables was easy. i didn't have any motofoam in my frame, but it was silent. make sure there is enough clearance on bottom out.

here's a picture of a guy in my city who i got my inspiration from.
i didn't use the heatshrinks on the end though, didn't see the point.

i hope that helps. Salute

I don't bother going through the swing arm, too tight for gear cable (and rear braided hose won't fit anyway) but don't find it particularly difficult to pipe the hoses / cables through the main frame. Just push them up from the bottom with the fork out and once you see them around the head tube thread them through the front hole (make sure they are correct side of steerer tube when you re-fit the fork.

Hi guys I've snapped the upper links on my 2011 summum and the replacements retail for £179.95 each which seems ridiculous ! However the 2013 upper links are £73 each. Would the 2013 links fit the 2011 frame and why the 2013 ones are cheaper ? I know the bolts are different so would need a couple of new bolts but it would save me so much money if they did fit.
Thanks

Have you spoken to Silverfish about it? They will have all the info you need. If ypu are the original owner you should be covered by warranty anyway I would have thought?

Let us know hoew you get on. Will be useful reference for anyone else with the same issue.

Different length shocks on 2011 vs 2013, so don't get your hopes up...

Thanks for your help with the cable routing. I got the water tubes and I'm trying to put it all together.

There is someone selling the linkages for the 2011 Summum on ebay, noticed a few people needing them on here in the last week. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MONDRAKER-SUMMUM-UPPER-LINKAGE-BEARINGS-linkages-links-WORLDWIDE-POSTAGE-/201070700792?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Fragrances_Women_s_Fragrances_PP&hash=item2ed0bf68f8

Route a inner gear cable through the swing arm then slide over your brake hose / gear outer. Makes it easy !

It was easy once I got a different outer cable. The one I was initially trying to guide was too thick and ended up shredded to pieces. Bought a thinner one and it was a piece of cake.
