Good morning/afternoon/evening Mondy brethren! Has anyone fitted (or has seen it done) a Rock Shox Vivid Air on a Summum? Specifically a 2013 frame... there isn't much room in there as you all know and I really don't want to buy one and then find out it doesn't fit!

Nice work buddy! This is mine, pretty certain that's the same isn't it??!

if it's the same year I assume it should be the same, as the difference between the standard, the pro, and the pro team are the same frame, just different spec

Why? I just got one. Taking some time to get used to it... Not as forgiving and wallowing as an old 09 40, but more responsive and less harsh as a boxxer. Is there a PB 380 forum thread btw? I'm not getting it dialed in as fast as I would want. Cheers.

Hi

Anyone has comparison to Kona Operator / Entourage ? I am thinking about buing Summum 2013 but have doubts if it won't be overkill for local trails with lots of Freeride stuff. Maybe Kona will be better suited for tight berms, a-lines and jumps ?

Every impression is very personal. As for me, I am in truly love with summum geo. That is the best of I ever had, no doubts. Stability and smoothness, when shredding wild mountains, just blows my mind every time I ride

Get a summum with a Geo kit and you can make the bike suit tight, free ride style terrain with ease.

Shortest chain stay adjustment and -1, maybe -2 degree head cups and you should have a flicky and playful bike

Definitley get the Summum with geo kit bro, you won't regret it!!

Thanks for your input. I will buy Summum for sure. Is it worth to look at used frames ? I have an option to buy 2013 Summum used for 5 months on DH races by a pro racer. Will it be risky, are those frames durable ?

Mine is a v.1

So it's old. I bought a summon pro, with GP kit, headset, bb and seat collar for 600 GDP 6 months ago.

It's fine, as usual.. Buy with care and attention.

I bought mine from a pro racer. Fast forward 2 years, it's still fine.

One last question and I'm ready to buy Smile There are some problems with loosening linkage bolts in Summums that were solved in 2014 models and I have heard that for some people even medium loctite won't solve the problem. Is that really true ? Is there some option to place 2014 Summum bolt in 2013 Summum ?

TBH I thought it was all bollocks, until I noticed that some of my 2015 bolts were rattling themselves loose, you've just got to watch them like every other bike to be honest

The bolts can come loose on summums, not all of them but the odd 1 or 2. I medium loctited the bolts on mine and it made them last 4-5 good rides before needing a nip up. I just make a habit of going round and checking them all before I head out to the trails, takes 2 mins and isnt really a big deal. I've never had them come loose mid ride, it's certainly not enough of an issue to make me dislike the bike
