Yes it sure is a classic look, but it needs a revamp.
First thing I'd do is fit a short stem and low wide bars.

Smaller 50mm purple bmx stem fitted. Not gonna change bars as I love the feel of dmr wing bars. Steerer tube is cut down to correct size now with a 10mm washer under it. I was leaving it high till I found the height I wanted. Purple gear cable also fitted and going to fit purple brake hoses as well soon. Couple of other changes soon. It's my first full suss bike and it's on a budget, slx or hope brakes next then maybe a hope rear wheel.

New superstar hub ordered to be built on amavic d521. As I folded my current rear wheel on sat

New picture in my profile not sure how to upload it to here

Here is my Kona coiler after a complete strip down, raw and new bearings, whilst waiting for my collar bone to heal...

Nice job, like the subtle kona lettering.

How do you get on with the longer travel forks?

I lowered them to 160 mm with a travail spacer. They cost about 17 $ US. online.
