When you're desperate for some weight shedding, switch to classic hose on the brakes, should be a good 150gr total ^^

When i am desperate to save 150g i would be looking at a different bike. Would not switch to standard hoses love the look of my braided hoses even if they provide no benefit. More weight to be lost by Ti spring, new bars then worrying about a hose!

My Alpine!

How you finding the x-fusion? Fork & shock up grade is next for me, already decided on the ccdb air but fighting over a new pike or a vengence...

I think X-Fusion have managed to create well performing suspension forks trough the line. I have vengeance as well. Actually I bought Slant for trail riding because felt Vengeance a bit too heavy. Have been thinking lighter air shock as well but I really like my Elka Stage 5.

Slant feels very plush, controlled and have nice feel in the mid stroke. I haven't really missed compression adjustments because the fork performs that well. Vengeance feels plusher and clearly have more adjustability than Slant but haven't really missed that either. I think Vengeance will definitely give you a smooth ride.

I'm riding a slant on my five. It is a really good fork, but I really miss the compression adjust when riding DH.
I'm forced to run higher pressures then I normally would to stop it bottoming out, as it needs a tad more high speed compression dampening , not much of a problem, and I certainly don't regret buying it, but definitely worth mentioning.

Thanks... For a company i've never really given a second thought about, they get alot of praise.

Fox are great but spend too much time & money servicing them, kashima looks kinda good with the black & gold theme tho lol

I think Fox is way too overrated. It's not that good out of the box. A little bit of effort and extra money spend, you can get Fox performing well also. Wink And as you mentioned the service costs. X-Fusion requires low maintenance.
