What's the sizing like on the 2015 Mk1 Fives? I've been offered a pretty good deal on a Five S with upgraded drivetrain and wheels but at 5'10 with a 31" inseam will the 19" (Large) be too big?
I've got a Whyte 901 at the moment and the top tube is similar length to the 19" Five and so is the standover but the seat tube is about 1" shorter on the 901.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone locally with one to try for size.
If there's only an inch difference in the seat tube I heavily doubt you'll notice it much. How often do you have your seat slammed on the 901?
Thanks for the reply.
A lot since upgrading to a dropper post but that's because it only has 3 positions and slammed is the easiest one to get to. Before that it just had a standard post that I could ride most of the local trails on without dropping the saddle all the way.
My thinking was that if effective top tube and standover are similar then it should be ok...I hope.

I'm the same height as yourself and I had a medium Five and that was spot on. I think a large may be a tad too big but I suppose it's persona preference.
I have a 2015 mk1 five and I'm 5 11 maybe 6 on a good day and a large is fine for me. Enough stand over and my Thomson dropper is about 2 inches out the frame.

Love it, Although I'm thinking of going the other way and losing the pink for raw.

I had to do a warranty job on the swing arm and they couldn't re spray the pink, I was thinking of going to the charcoal for a stealth look, but I preferred the silver, purple and black theme, worked out alright in the end, just waiting on a few more parts then time to thrash it up the Alps
I might have a few bucks to spend on the alpine. Found sellable stuff in the basement the other day My 2014 alpine 26" is currently equipped with a 2011 Rockshox Lyric Solo Air rc2dh and the standard fox ctd shock. Go for an rct3 pike (and so make the stealth alpine real) or a new shock? if shock: which one do you recommend?
I kind of lean towards the pike but honestly, that's just an optical thing. The white forks have bother me since day 1 and are like the only part that stands between me and my stealth vision. But then again, I'm nowhere near unhappy with either parts performance, so kind of a luxury problem.
