the ratio between the two...

27-12 sounds good if you sprint hard. Then again, if you're into technical stuff more so than speed-beasting, go 25-12 as it's a good balance between trials-like torque-ability and a DJ-riding ratio.

Hey guys I got a question for you...I completely builded my bike but I have some issues with my rear wheel. I put a non-nutted axle from my Trek ticket and it always come loose even if I tighten the chain tensioners a lot. So my question is : what kind of rear axle do you run and should I remove the chain tensioners ?? Thanks a lot!

Firt off, you BUILT, not builded.

EDIT: Tensioners, got it. Dont remove those. You need to run a nutted 5/8 or 10mm nutted axle. A QR axle will slip.

I'm in the same boat right now. Converted my Ticket to SS, and bought the horizontal dropouts. I ordered the Octane hub through my LBS. Shipping time sucks though.

I ran a qr on mine for a while and it didnt slip at all. I now have a bolt on skewer which is the same as a qr only it has no lever, it uses an allen. Try one of these before you go out and buy a new hub.

I got a question for the p3 owners, I got the frame through a friend (new in box) and its come with the 1-1/8th and 1.5 bearings along with the top shim and lower 1.5 crown race shim only. Trouble is I have a 1-1/8th straight steerer on my forks. Where can I get hold of a crown race reducer? I've seen hope make one but I'm unsure of its compatibility and I know of no one in the uk with this issue

Cheers in advance.

Damn man, u're not the only one that's had that problem.. According to Specialized they sell the frame with the lower cup reducer, but I didn't receive it as well.. And getting a tapered fork is expensive.. I had to buy a headset that came with a reducer.. Bought it at CRC, but u can find one on EBay.. Good luck with that, and enjoy the P3, they ride like beasts!!

I've also had the same problem. I needed to use some bearings from my old bike, as well as trade the 1.5" bearing for a 1.125" one at my local bike shop.

Well I know f.s.a can supply a 1.5 'step down' or reducer crown race which may fit. I need to do some research on the lower bearing I have, its 45 by 45 angular bearing, I guess, that means the outer top and inner lower contact points of the bearing are chamfered at 45 degrees, so in effect I need not only a 45 chamfered crown race but ideally an f.s.a compatible... Argh I just want to build this thing.

Forget everything u have, avoid mess ups with the headset and buy a tapered reducer headset on CRC, I got a DaBomb and fit perfectly, no moe issues..

What price are you guys getting the p.3 frame for? My local bike shop wants $580 for just the frame and for aluminum I was thinking that's a little overkill I know specialized is expensive but $600 for just a frame.
