Coolest thing you have found while digging

Been wanting to start this thread for a while but after digging for almost 3 years the coolest thing I ever found was a 12" corrugated culvert full of dirt that I use as a roadblock when the trail is muddy. Finally last week I found something cool:

California Alligator Lizard, almost 10" long, not really exciting I know but it is the biggest lizard I've seen wild in Northern California. Found him under the diving board I use as a ramp for my wheelbarrow on a cold day. Little dude was so cold he didn't even move when I uncovered him and barely squirmed when I grabbed him and put in in a bucket. Took him home and warmed him up and he is super fast. I'm trying to get a video of him eating crickets but whenever I watch him he just gives me a cold stare. As soon as I walk away for 2 minutes the crickets are gone. I'm going to fatten him up for a couple weeks then when it gets warmer I'll take him back and release him.

Wish I lived up in the hills here then I could find one of these:

7 pound gold nugget
Dude was grading his road and found this thing.Drool
So what have you guys found? Any gold, historic artifacts, or anything else cool or unusual?

That's cool I guess, I know when I've been digging for 8 hours or so I get so hungry I'll eat anything I can find.lol
Finally got a video of the lizard eating but the quality sucks. But I actually found something really cool while digging:

Damn teapcup chihuahua, little guy was running around all by himself, bleeding pretty good from one of his feet, and too scared to let anybody get near him. Too quick for any of us to catch we released the pitbull and she ran him down. After he realized that my dog wasn't going to eat him he was in love. He followed her around for a few hours and finally realized he might have to put up with me if he wanted to hang out with my dog. Took him home and cleaned up his foot, next day my dog got a foxtail in her eye so I decided I better make a trip to the vet. $200 later I got 2 healthy dogs. Little guy weighs about 3 lbs. Normally I don't really like chihuahuas too much but this guy is pretty cool, doesn't bark too much, seems trainable, and is actually generally nice. Not sure if I should try to find his previous owner, I live in a pretty bad area and most people here don't take very good care of their dogs.

Oh, here's the lizard vid if you're interested:

Almost forgot the most interesting part of the story. Right after the sun set I was picking up my shovels and loading the wheelbarrow to go home. Two huge owls flew overhead and circled for about three minutes. I have never heard owls get so excited, they were screeching back and forth like crazy. They definitely were waiting for a chance to get the little guy but I shook my shovel up in the air and they flew off.
