Do you think you'll need front and back suspension?

Or maybe a dual crown fork?

im kind of thinking i might, i have some decent drops, 4/5 feet, but then i also have like a dirt track, so i want something that can sort of handle both, so i was thinking probably a dual suspension

It sounds like you should try and find a specialized SX or SX trail, depending on what you feel will suit your riding. The SX has 5" of travel, and the SX trail has 7"

You could probably go without the dual crown fork and aim for a bike with 160+mm of good travel front and rear, but still light enough to throw around. Transition Bottlerocket maybe? Its 130-150 mm but its built for jumping.

I was joking about the dual crown fork. He won't need it.

Wtf?

Lol, that third one.... the Triumph, looks SICK

LOL what's he thinking? Why would an MTB rider buy a Biggles Triumph? Haha

Why would you put a dual crown on a Mob? Honestly, I can't take you seriously anymore. Especially when you try and say something like "LOL what's he thinking?"

I will. I'm not going to derail this thread.

Hey, I'm new and stuff like that. I'm looking to get an entry level dirt jumper, hopefully for a budget of 500$, i have no idea if that's feasible. I've been to Ray's MTB park in Cleveland a few times and had a blast in the park and jump rooms with their Trek Tickets, but i never really fell in love with the way that bike felt for me. I didn't hate it, but i never really felt that comfortable on it.

alright go.

Not surprising really. Firstly it's kinda gross-looking. Secondly it's made from Aluminium. And thirdly it comes from a big-ass company... Kinda like comparing a Big Mac to a home cooked high quality ground beef patty burger.

You've got good senses.

You should start trawling through all the second-hand advertisements and try and pick out choice parts that have been used but not badly abused.... Like Profile cranks etc... And before you know it, you'll have a really nice bike...

Start with a nice frame of course....A Cromoly one. Are there any for sale on Pinkbike?!

Used specialized P1, giant STP, maybe a Kona. Thats all I see in the used buy sell for your price range, I'd really say the P1, I hear they hold up well and may feel better than the Trek ticket. Aim for a 2008 or so.

How can you say Specialized P1 and the Giant STP in the same breath? The specialized P1 is a far superior machine!!!

I prefer the STP personally. You're opinion doesn't matter anyways Wink.
