I was up there yesterday for the first time this season and the trails I rode were really bad. I didn't enjoy a second of the 2 hours that I was there and came back home bleeding from 10 different places. Unlike last year which I would stay everytime till the very last minute and beg the guys at the bottom to let me go just one more time.

I talked to the management and they lied and said they maintain and water the trails everyday by the same people who did it last year bla bla bla, bunch of liars. I'm probably never going back there again after this!

What a waste of a season pass for this crap.

What made the trails so bad?

Tires kept sliding, dust was the culprit because this summer was very dry, just look at the grass everywhere!
Each trail had a few little spots which were much worst than the rest and IMO if horseshoe watered those spots regularly then the trails wouldn't have been this bad. I went to horseshoe close to 10 times last season and didn't crash a single time, it's possible I was there at the worst day and worst time but I just don't feel like going back there again.

Trail crew has been building trails. O-cup and another in same location. They got screwed on o-cup due to land issue.

So I hear.

Will be there tomorrow.

It's a drought, sounds like you got spanked by the sand!
Falling is a sign that you are pushing your skills in new directions.

Im headin there today to form my own opinoins. First time this season and driving from Waterdown, I hope its good. These negative comments have me more curious then worried. What happen to the Horseshoe rep on this forum? Liked that interaction last season.

Not sure exactly who that was, might have been one of the trail crew members who is not back at the resort this year.

The trails needed some minor cleaning which I was happy to do it myself but there was nothing I could do about the sand. I was actually riding slower than the usual as I was just trying to warm up but when tires become very unpredictable, there is not much anyone can do! It rained yesterday so hopefully it should be less dusty by now.

I tried asking the management to take my season pass back and just charge me for the single day that I was up there since the trails weren't what I was expecting them to be and I was absolutely not pushing it or anything but that actually triggered a chain of lies by the management... whatever!

Im not sure about the issues youve had, but me and a buddy had an a blast there yesterday. I think they're doing a good job at horseshoe. I like all the new features added this year and all the berms were in great shape. Really enjoy the freeride trails, keep up the good work Horseshoe.

I feel i should probably way in on this issue as im the one who started the thread. I purchased a seasons pass this year and have been to horseshoe many times so far and havent had any issues with the trails yet other than the o-cup course could have done with some grass cutting but they did that. As for the sand everyone is complaining about, we have had one of the dryest summers this year so the trails will certainly be dusty but i have found no real sand on the trails and havent had any issues with my tires sliding or crashing alot because of no grip. Horseshoe has been doing well at maintaining the berms and features on the hill and if anything, things being dusty allows you to ride quicker and push your self and have a more fun and challenging day.

Glad you had a nice day at horseshoe. Yeah, you were there just a day after the rain. As I said before it's possible I was there at the worst time which didn't turn out well for me.
