I'm 5'10-11 ish and ride a medium. The top tube seems a little cramped after riding my dj bike. Not enough to worry about getting a lrg frame though

Same here

What year are you guys talking about? The 2015 is COMPLETELY different then the '11-'14 Alum! I could never ride the 2015 med. A 2014 medium, yes.

He was asking about the 2015. If you ride a medium in the previous years, one should get the LONG 2015. Go check out the specs. The reach on the 2015 med is much shorter then the 2014.

I've ridden both in medium and it was fine. The 2015 long felt a little big and the 2015 medium a little small and I prefer a smaller bike to a longer one so I rented the medium in whistler

I'm on the 2015, and though the reach is a bit shorter (not "much"), to me the new bike definitely feels bigger than the old one. I agree at 5.10 I would most likely want the large, but the new bike definitely doesn't feel much shorter than the old one. Apart from reach it is actually "much" bigger if anything.

Are we all talking about the 2015 alum 650b? Or, is MrDuck talking the 2015 carbon S-works? Because they are different in the way they are sized, and you're confusing the shit of me!

Hi all,

Would a size L demo 8.1 2015 (alu) fit me? I'm 5'9" (175cm) and looking for a playful and stable downhill rig.
I mostly ride park and like jumping and throw my bike around, but also getting fast. Normal park life, you know.

Cheers
It all started here, as I was answering the post. BTW, Craess hasn't chimed in since, so eff it anyway!

I'm always here reading what you are writening.
I think i'm a bit between sizes. It's just that i only can do a parklot test and so your answers are important for me.
I rode a yt tues 2015 size medium yesterday and i felt good. Is the 2015 alu demo size large like a yt in medium?

I haven't tried a YT Tues, but in terms of the most variable geometry specs like reach, stack and HA they are basically the same, so I would expect a similar experience. And I said "the most variable specs" because we usually play a lot with them (spacers under the crown/stem, different stem length, angle headsets). Cheers!

Sorry, I'm talking carbon here, though I thought they were nearly the same?

Im riding the new generation 650b demo, Im 6' and the Long is perfect. Once you get this bike up to speed it's very playful, it just requires more out of you than the 26" demo.

Haha, thanks man. It's taken about 2 years to get to this point but I'm pretty happy with how it sits now.
