Me and some friends spent 4 hours rebuilding forks...

My boxxer is the next best thing to sex now, and thats before my seals have broken in.

Ive been on a service fiasco with my Totem since I go it. Sticky out of the box (new) with congealed oil on the stanchions. Tried just changing oil- nope! Stripped, cleaned with alcohol, new oil and its like butter now. Now I have to tear it back apart since I broke it in and do an oil change and grease the seals. Ill probably do it during one of the rainy days this week.

Rockshox's factory assembly is a joke, my friends boxxer WC was almost dry...

Well that's comforting. Does that mean a rebuild straight out of the box is necessary?

When I tried doing just an oil change with the drains I got a pittiful amount of oil out. Im glad it was sticky or I would have never thought to check.

Yes. Not really a rebuild though, just an clean / oil / grease service. To me rebuild implies new bushing and seal install.

Usually it's a very good idea.

Sooo nice afterwards though.

That speed lube thing is a cool idea, but I'd rather just run a proper service on it.

Ill still properly service it during regular intervals, but with speed lube I can do a quick 2 minute drain and fill before a ride or after a dusty one when I normally wouldnt.

I don't know how to do anything to a fork. Shit, I need to learn.

Its one of those things that so many people are intimidated by but thats stupid easy, especially if you have a Rockshox or Manitou. Once you learn to do it you will be tearing every fork you can find apart because its fun. I enjoy suspension work more than anythign else.

My friend knows how to work on a fox. I'm going to lean over his shoulder and watch. I can. Hear my rebound valve creaking a little bit. Methinks it's time for oil. May as well throw on some seals while we lower it.

Boxxers need very little oil in them. My boxxers need 10-15ml of 40:60 10:15wt oil in each leg
