really good bikes, handle great , i have added a shorter stem and wider bars to mine, only thing against them is the relatively short travel, but if you ride light and float they rip,
go for the newer top end ones and you get tapered steerers and thru axles as well.
cant fault it as long as you dont need a bit more travel
I have a FSR xc Pro from 2009, basically it`s the same geometry. Climbs every thing, and handles dh pretty well, as long as you don`t cross the line. What I changed in mine was, new set of wheels ( stronger wheels that is ) fulcrum red metal 5s, shorter stem a pro koryak AM, spd pedals, and a nice WTB speed V saddle ( I call it the sofa ).
As I said I can do anything you want with it as long as you keep it real, and in mind that it`s not a DH rig.
Wishlist : wider bars, and more travel ! ( Got my eye on a new stumjumper )
Never bottomed out the fork, but can`t say the same thing about the shock.
Hi, I am looking to buy the 2012 Camber FSR Elite right now as it is fitting my budget. I just moved to Vancouver and wanted to know if this bike will hold up on the North Shore. I don't know anything about the trails here but just keep hearing amazing things.
Got a 2012 expert 3weeks ago but today was the 1st ride and it was more than up to the job 20miles with some big climbs and great on the ruff down hill stuff . My 1st spech bike and must say very in pressed.
I have the 12 camber in 26. Awesome bike. I have bottomed out both the fork and shock but I'm running them a little stiffer though and only have issues when I'm riding sloppy.
I'm running 730 mm bars and a chain guide. Had it listed for awhile because I wanted something with more travel, the biggest stuff I feel comfortable dropping on this is about 5'. Just couldn't do it though. This bike is awesome for the money but its a trail bike not a DH rig.
