For a trail bike I was first looking st the stumpy evos. Then I thought I would yeah myself patience and build up a meta am and now I'm looking onto the trek remedy 9. I work at a shop that sells spesh and trek so I can pro deal those but not the sweet looking meta. Any opinions or personal time on any of these bikes?

The Stumpy Evo is a super sick trail bike. I have the Stumpy Evo Carbon and it freakin rips. Pedals really well accelerates much better than an enduro. It really does shine on the downhill though. It soaks up bumps really well and jumps well because of the low weight and geometry. It corners on rails as well. The low standover makes it super easy to lay the bike over and rip the corners. The biggest downfall with the bike is actually the fork. Mine is the Fox Float 32 150mm 15QR. It is pretty stiff in the corners but not great and it soaks up bumps really well. It dives a little more than I would like under braking because of the lack of low speed compression adjust. Also when it gets really rough the front end tends to flex and isn't nearly as stable as a Fox 36. Especially since my last trail bike had a 36 Van which is what I got used to and absolutely loved that fork. Hopefully next year it comes stock with the Float 34 as it will help a lot with making the front end stiffer. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the remedy and the Meta allthough I would love to try those bikes but the Stumpy is a hard bike to beat in the trail bike category. Its geometry is spot on for aggressive trail riding. Sorry for the long winded answer. Will post my Stumpy soon once it is done being converted to 1X10. Big Grin

Remedy 9 is a sick bike. Climbs pretty well and rips descents from when I test rode one.

Just built up a new frame...

apologies for picture whoring, last time for today, it's compensating for actually riding it as first ride round town on it, the front avid brake went kaput, lever piston broke Frown

My Remedy 9 is fantastic. My buddy also rides the stumpy evo, and the Remedy definitely climbs better. The remedy also RIPS descents and single track. I also use mine for DH, and couldn't be happier. Can't speak for the Meta, but the Stumpy is also great. Can't go wrong with either.

I heard from friends of a coworker that are pro dh racers said the rear end of the stumpy flexes and builds up energy that kinda sPrings u out of corners awkwardly. I've ridden a stumpy 29er many times but never the 26 stumpy. As much as I want the meta am I cant afford it. I have a session8 and love it so I might as well stick with what I like. Thanks guys.

Stumpy f*cking rails corners. I shred my Dad's sometimes and its sick as hell. The rear doesn't flex like you'd think. Get a ride on the 26 before you decide, that frame is much better on smaller wheels.
