Hiya! I've been inspired to bike across Canada via the Trans Canada Trail, and I was wondering for some information.
However, I've heard that cougars especially are pretty keen to attacking mountain bikers. I was told they go for the weakest target, and everyone is weak while ascending a big mountain/hill.
SO, here's my question: How regular occurance is this? Does anyone know?
And has anyone biked part of the TCT? What parts should I ignore? I heard that some parts aren't worth biking.
Also, I'm planning on using a Canyon Nerve XC full-suspension (can lock it out) with a B.o.B trailer. I was also thinking about having two sets of tires with me: one for road and another for trails. Reasoning: if I have to bike long distances between trail segments or if there are segments not worth biking on, then using road tires would be a better. And vice-versa.
I plan to be camping where ever possible and what not.
So what holes do you see in the idea of mine? What should I take into consideration? Sadly, none of my friends are into biking, so it seems like i would be doing this solo, which is a stupid idea in itself, but yeah...i'm used to travelling solo.
