Currently running the stock Vector Xfusion that came on the BigHit 1 and already upgraded to the Boxxer up front. What shock do you guys like for the rear? Post up some pics and size/ stroke for your upgrade. Specialized says in the specs that the rear shock is an 8.5" x 2.5" but I thought that I read somewhere that it was 2.25" stroke on the BH1.

Hadn't really thought about the HLR. Anyone tried it? I know a bunch of my buddies are running the Zocchi Roco Air and sware by it on their Demos. Wonder how that new Vivid runs?

Ive just got some Boxxer's for my Big Hit 2011 and im stumped by the lower reducing cup, is it a really tight fit on the original bearing?

I use a dhx 3 on mine, cheaper than a dhx 4 but with more adjustment that van R, doesnt have compression unlike the 4 and van rc but has air, preload and rebound.

Hey all. Not to hijack or rehash an old thread but I can't find a straight answer on rear spring weight for the bighit. I weight 215 and I have a 550# spring. It feels so so stiff no matter what setting it's on. Too much spring? Thanks everyone. Sorry if this was answered somewhere else but I can't find it.

Well you could just loosen it off a bit but not too much cause if its loosened too much if you bottom out they can snap, or go down to a 400 and see how it feels

The med comes with a 450# spring so the large is likely a 500#. I'm only 165 and on a med the 450lb was too stiff so called Xfusion and they sent me a 400 for like 25-30 bucks.

How's the 400 feel? I think the original spring was a 400 and I felt like I could bottom it out no problem. Maybe pump up the reservoir a bit and try again. Funny the bighit manual said any riders over 200 should be rocking a 350. I say pssshhhhhhhh

Why?

manitou is far superior to Fox and certainly xfusion. This is the best after 5ยบ Elementh and only surpassed by CCDB and vivid

No, the dorado and circus are the only manitou products worth running.

Their rear suspension is far inferior to fox, rockshox, x-fusion, or cane creek.
