Hello guys, i'm about to buy a 2008 Boxxer Race over the internet and one of the stanchions has some tiny marks.
Anyway to tell if they might cause issues? Seller says everything is fine, but of course he's going to say that Smile
Here is a high res. photo, could you guys take a look? Thanks!

I dont think it will be an issue. Its only really a problem when the scratch is really deep. Many you could ask the seller for a side on picture to see if its a deep scratch.

Little scratches are not a problem at all.

i have had forks with 100% worse marks and they never caused me an issue.

They are very tiny and should be no problem at all

No way... do not buy that. Those stanchions look wreaked.

this kind of scratch are less important on rock shox forks than , for exemple, the same ones on a marzo, just because it is not an open bath damping system (like marzo forks)
thus, it s not good to get this kind of scratches on stanchions, but ,it can t screw hydraulic damping system, maybe it can make lubricating hydraulic fluid go out of the fork quickly..

to me, if you have this fork for a low price, it can really be a great deal.

Thanks for the help guys, i won't buy them.
The forks aren't low price either : $370 , 2008 Boxxer Race.

I know this is late but just for future reference you can always just fill in the scratches with JB weld and then use 1000 grit sand paper to smooth them down and they work perfectly. I had to do this last year with my Manitou Nixon Elite and they are still working perfect and have not had an issue.
