Birthday is coming up, and my seals on my old manitou revox (9.5 . 3.0) just blew.
Was wondering if the DHX was really all that great, or if I should just save the cash and get a VAN RC, or if there are even better shocks out there. What's your opinion?

FOX RC4 with Ti spring

DHX is pretty good. If you feel like you don't need the adjustments, you could always go Van, but the DHX is very nice.

Cane Creek Double Barrel is also really nice and has a lot of useful adjustments...you could tune it for almost anything, but it's a bit expensive.

Also, the Vivid Air is a solid air shock if that's the direction you wanna go. On a lot of frames people like it better than any coil shock.

i would go with a crane creek they are the best with ti spring and can be tuned for anything. i would go with that but up to you

I have the VAN RC on my Bottlerocket and it is a very capable shock. The adjustments on it or basically all I need for the frame design and the type of fast trail riding I do. The only thing I think I need is to get a little stiffer spring from 450 to 500, I weigh 200 with full gear. My 2 cents

Surprised nobody has said Bos Stoy yet, but yeah all of the above pretty much depending on where your priorities lie. Budget, ajustability, weight etc.

the Van RC is an amazing shock for DH. No platform, good damping system. may not be too adjustable externally, but it has whats needed. I have an RC4, with Kashima, and a ti springs. its so plushh

I'd go for a vector HLR, i've heard amazing things about them. Fox isnt the be all, end all of suspension...
