[Quote="bretmkal"]Looking for new tyres for my santa cruz v10. This is my first season for DH.
I want to run tubeless, and I've heard good things about Butchers/Muddy Mary. When would I want a 2.3 or 2.5? What would be good tyres for fairly dry trails? What things am I looking for in a front tyre & rear tyre? thanks
Schwalbe Dirty Dan front either 2.5 or 2.35 and Muddy Mary 2.35 rear is a good allround combo, the Dirty Dan just gives a bit more beef up front than just two MMs.
So I want to purchase one. I currently don't ride with one and I feel dumb. Thing is I don't have 300 bucks to buy a Leatt or Alpine Stars. I did however find 2 for a very reasonable price.
Both are by EVS. They're a moto company. The cheapest model is the R4 ($119) or the more adjustable RC Evolution ($175).
I don't know much and was wondering what you guys think.

If you look in the right places you can find leatts for less than 200.

Well you want to give those websites up bc Google can't find shit for under $225.
So I found out my used bike I bought has a set of WTB Dual Duty FR. I checked the WTB website and they are rated for Class 4 Riding - Which I guess is Heavy Freeride/ (DH technically) but recommended for freeride.
The previous owner was running 2.5 size tyres and whatnot, should I be concerned running tubeless 2.5 butchers or should I be planning on investing in a new wheelset?
Easton Havoc? Deemax?
I'm not really looking to spend $600-1200, what would be a good strong wheelset I could look into if necessary? (maybe im being paranoid)
hey i bought my UCI license on line off CCN and i forget if you can still race even if you dont have your hard copy race license thanks
I bought one last winter and i still have not got the hard copy, i have done like 4 or 5 races so you are still good if they ask to see it just say that you have paid and have not receved it. if they dont beleve you tell them to look it up
