I bought the GPS and I dig it alot. Smaller ,GPS tracking , Contour view card/ Android app for my phone to insure proper angle, resolution & it was/is a better fit for me. Plus their support folks are real helpful (in ne2 centseded) . My

wait can you see what the camera sees on your droid live? if so that is pretty cool... getting the right angle is 90% of getting a good helmet cam shot.
yeah man my DROID is my view finder the you switch to record and it shuts off the DROID. It is only for setup. Ultimately cool. And by "fit" I mean had all the options and mounting hardware........ no sticky crap on my helmet!! That alone = WIN.

Wow... just considering video quality I still like the gopro more, but I have to say contour seems to constantly be a step ahead of them for usability. Do they still have the laser you can use to line it up too? I always wondered by gopro didn't copy that idea.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it's been most helpful. I don't get back home again for another 5 weeks but when i do i think i will buy the Contour+. I never looked at it before. Seems to be the same as the ContourGPS but with 170 degree angle.
I hope i can get a video posted soon after and maybe it'll tempt some of you to try riding in Thailand.

Nidge.

I ended up buying the contour gps. I like the design more and the gps function is perfekt when you have made a film of some sweet trails you can always find them agin. The laser is super for alinig the camera. Also the connect wiev you Can always see what you are filming. And the different kind of mounts you Can always find one for the angel you want.

I got the ContourGPS too. So far i have only used it on the streets of Jakarta but next month i will be hitting the trails at home.
I had to buy the helmet strap because the fittings that were included were not suitable and i need to buy a microSD card because the included 2Gb is woefully inadequate.
Video quality is excellent and it fits really flush on the helmet so i am not worried about ripping it off when the trail get's overgrown.

Today i used my Contour for the first time off road. It got snagged by vines twice. I'm sure if i had the go pro on my helmet it would have ripped my helmet off of my head.
Only problem now is that for a 15 minute video it is going to take me 7 hours to upload Frown
