As a very active BRMBA member, Trail manager and someone who is working diligently on the situation of trail system access, I have a few concerns and requests for everyone to follow:
1)Brad, the camp tapawingo caretaker is our neighbor, a really nice guy and is interested in keeping our access to this wonderful trail system. All riders currently ride past his home and church camp on their way to the blackrock trail system
2) I, among other BRMBA members are working to improve trail access to the system in conjunction with Brad and the camp
3) Brad is coincidentally who began the process into making BRMBA happen
4) We as mountain bikers riding by the camp at fast speeds are obstructing the peace and tranquility that their guests deserve and at time have startled people and have ruined their day
5) Intentionally trying to disturb anyone at the camp, for example, starting a confrontation will inevitably lead to the shutdown of the trails.
6) Walking speed is the only speed that you should ride down the road. If you think your burning up your brakes....Walk!
7) No amount of signage will ever stop the ignorant or illiterate riders from going too fast even though we have posted many large signs. People simply don't read. A walk policy will only make things worse when disregarded
8 ) Public nudity, beer drinking, public urination, use of illicit substances, dogs off of leashes between the parking lot and orange gate are not to be tolerated. Please ask anyone not in compliance to adhere to these policies.
9) If confronted by anyone at the camp, please adhere to the message, smile and never engage in a negative manner, no matter how you feel about it. Pass this message on
10) Always stay on the road straight, we are currently creating new signs to help flow and directions to the system
Enjoy and have a great time at blackrock. We work very hard and do not want any of our work shut down due to this situation. Not really hard to understand, however you feel, this is how it is to be.
Don't forget to purchase your 2012 BRMBA membership which will get you discounts at local bike shops, discounts on shuttle days and future benefits. These funds will help the continuation of building features, purchase of tools, chainsaw gas, shuttle funds, honeypots, etc.....We really need everyone to join.
Is "Brad" the asshat whom can't controll himself? If you get nasty with people, people will get nasty in return.
Ol' Brad will end up a bloody mess on the side of his little road. Be sure and tell him that.
And then we will be closed for sure. These actions will in no way make anything better. Please refer to the procedures listed above. Brad is currently working closely with us to reroute our access and gain more trails for the Blackrock system. Again, Brad is the reason we are who we are and trespassing, cursing, antagonizing, speeding through his front yard, disturbing the peace, drinking beer, etc.....all listed above are not appreciated by anyone. HE IS A RESPECTED MEMBER OF OUR ORGANIZATION! We are entitled to nothing and can lose it at any moment.
Well I just want to say that if Brad is on our side, then there's a boat load of us that will be riding elsewhere. I had an 'incident' where I had to put my bumper about 8 inches past the gate. Brad chased me down across the bridge, got in my face and essentially threatened me. He stayed in my face for more than 10 minutes, the whole time I was apologizing and letting him know it wont happen again. At one point I thought we were going to get physical, which I will tell you that in my profession wouldn't have boded well for him. He's lucky he wasn't arrested for open threats. I think if Brad knew who he was talking to the conversation would have went completely different. Brad needs to be aware that while it may be private property it doesn't give him liberties beyond the law.

sounds like the guy is a dick but deal with it tread lightly around him then. Just be chill don't get an ego. Cause his camp ground is a lil more important to the stat than free ridding area. So he calls the cops and says some people are messing with him and then it's gone and I havnt rode there yet and well I would cry. I mean if you have him being a jerk like that and you can get him on film then what ever but sounds like just be like yes and no sir. But we'll my rant is done.
