I'm looking at swapping out the stock 660mm bars on my Tanuki with the Crank Bros Iodine 1 Bar in the 700mm size and their Iodine grips.
I'm looking for a little more bar width, and a lot of the bars I see are only 25mm wider than what I've already got. I think the 700mm is right where I want to be.
I'll be a high school student for another couple weeks, so my budget is pretty tight at the moment. Am I throwing money away on this set up?

crankbrothers looks great, but theres better parts out there..
i will say that going from a 660 to a 700 is actually a pretty solid change, and you will feel the difference in the control, but it really depends on what the rest of you setup looks like.
if i were you, i would steer clear of bars that are long and cheap. yes, long and cheap. the price point of the bars are low, due to the quality of the aluminum (in this case poor). thats why most lower pricepoint bikes come with 600~650 bars. the longer the bars get, the more it matters. in the end, stiffness directly affects your control.
I might look into spending a bit more money on the bars then. I'm 5'8" with wide shoulders, so 660mm on an 18inch frame is just too narrow when it gets technical and there's no way I'd spend any money at all to only jump up to 685mm.
