Just finished putting together my new Stumpjumper Evo and got a weeks worth of riding on it.
As a long-time time Enduro rider and owner of 3 generations of the Enduro, I decided to "down size" to the Stumpy Evo and am extremely pleased so far. The bike is so fast and light and any decrease in stiffness or decending prowess from the Enduro has yet to be percieved from the saddle.
Here is my build:
StumpJumper Evo Frame (Large) RockShox Revelation RCT3 Fork - 150mm Sun Ringle' Charger Pro Wheelset Sram XO Carbon Crankset E13 LG1+ Chainguide E13 Guide Ring (34 Tooth) SRAM XO Rear Derailleur & Shifter Avid Elixer CR Brakes Specialized Command Post Renthal Fat Bars (20mm Rise) Renthal Duo Stem (50mm) Specialzed Butcher Control (Front) Specialized Ground Control (Rear) 27lbs 13oz
That's awesome to hear. Thanks for reporting that. I have been riding 29er HT for the past 3 years. (Switched from Trek Fuel and Santa Cruz SUperlight). But I recently got the itch for my 26in wheels again and FS. So I borrowed my friends 2006 Enduro and have been riding that for the past month. I'm def going back to 26in FS and the Sumpy Evo seems to be my bike of choice. The Enduro is fun as hell and with the Talas I can adjust the geometry to suit my current trail conditions.
I just feel like the Enduro is a bit too burly for my local trails which are mostly XC/Singletrack. Do you feel like you can take that Stumpy out to some lift access like 4 or 5 times a year? Because I'd like to try that out a bit. Or do you feel like it is only good for XC/Trails. Either way just wanted to get back to a super fun bike
