Help identifying fork coil...possibly Marzocchi

Hi folks,

I was hoping someone could help me to identify a fork coil I have that came with a used DH bike I recently purchased. I was told the coil was a spare "medium" coil for the 2008 Marzocchi 888 RC3 on the bike. However when I dropped the fork in for a service and to have the medium coil installed, I've been tolded the coil is not suitable for the fork as it's too long.

The coil dimensions are...
Length: 480mm
Internal diameter: ~20mm
Colour: white
Pretty sure it's titanium (edit...maybe not...it's about 300g)

There are no markings on the coil at all.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Perhaps it's actually from a later 888 - I believe there are some differences between the earlier and later 888s?

Thanks!

Andrew.

Marz put Ti springs in the 2006-2007 888 WC as well, but the spring you describe isn't from one.
I just ran down and measured the set I have hanging on my wall and my 2006 888 springs are 320mm long, with a 22mm internal diameter

they could be from an EVO Ti, hopefully someone else can help

Thanks for the replies guys. So I was hunting around and found that apparently Fox 40s have a 480mm coil....but none of the fox coils seem to be white. From what I can tell, Fox 40s are the only fork with a coil so long. Pretty strange this one.

Here's a pic:
