because you have to bake it onto the frame at 200 degrees so i was wandering if this would damage it at all

If you look on youtube, you can see exactly how its done. Its much stronger than paint, as its not liquid but a molten plastic-like powder, a current is then charged through the desired object, and because the powder is the opposite charge, the metal and powder bond together, so its not just like paint sticking. Then baked all on there for super-strength.

The frame wont weaken, since it isnt baked on at a high enough temperature for the frame to be affected in anyway whatsoever.

Just google it, they all do the same thing.

Thats alright man, its probably cheaper to get it done around birmingham as when i was looking i got a quote of about £40 for frame and forks! Just email them when you want done, and theyll give you a price.

Powdercoating doesn't weaken a frame. Strong sandblasting does.

Im fine paying 40, ive got a sick frame with a shoddy ass pait job so im gunna get that sorted out in a couple of months, and should i ask them to not sandblast it for to long?

i suggest rawing around the welds yourself, then they won't need to sand/bead blast the welds.

aparently if you raw it yourself they have to redo it anyway? So wouldnt that be even worse?

Why would they have to redo it? As long as its completely bare metal with absolutely no paint, whats the point?

i went onto one website of a powder coater and it said that out of 250 frames that had been rawed by the owner only 1 was of a good enough standard to powder coat it straight over

Well if theyve done so many, there shouldnt be a problem with weakening the frame.. Just ask them to be gentle
