I was wondering if there are any good mtb parks (preferably with a lift) near east Tennessee. I live in Florida but have family in tennessee and wanted to ride some while im up there this summer. I know snowshe is a good one that is about 5 hours away from where i live. Are there any others?

there is Windrock which is about an hour west of Knoxville, its not a lift access trail but its got a good road up the mountain if you have someone to shuttle for you. ive rode Windrock quite a bit and it is some very fun downhill there is i think 5 different lines and they are 10-15 minute runs depending on how fast you are

yea man if you look up Coal Creek OHV it'll have the directions, its a 4 wheel drive park but they let the mountain bikers build the trails on one side of the mountain, and all the downhill stuff is blocked off from the jeeps and 4 wheelers. i think its like $10 a day to ride it

Sweet is there any place where i can get the trail map so i know where im going before i get there. Are the trails made by the public riders or the coal creek people?

the trails are made a kept up by the some of the riders, coal creek just lets them use the land, they have maps there but if your on facebook look up "Middle TN Gravity Mountain Biking" and click to join the group, theres people on there that get groups together and have a shuttle trailer and stuff and go up there on weekends and some of them actually built the trails so im sure they would be able to show you around up there too if you hook up with them on a weekend they are going up

Davo425, do you happen to know anything about the downhill stuff at Raccoon Mountain? I had heard a new trail was being built called "livewire" or something like that. I havnt been able to find much info on it like where exactly it is and if its opened up yet etc.

stinky609....I have not personally ridden livewire, however people i ride with say you could ride a wheel chair down it.....its certainly not even close to DH if thats what your asking. Its supposed to be fun as hell on a xc/am bike! It is open for sure.

Andypav......
You need to check out TTC Gravity Park outside of chatt in jasper tn. If you like raw, steep gnar......you'll love it! We
currently we have about 6 trails with excellent shuttle access. On the big side the first 200 ft is arguably the steepest trails in the east from what riders say who have ridden far more places than I. The small side has some great flow with nice drops, jumps, gaps, and KILLER ROCK GARDENS.

Anybody who would like to ride TTC just give me a text or ring, 601-946-3069. I will drive up any weekend and give the grand tour. It realy helps to ride with someone who has been there before, especially with the shuttle directions and some trail locations. We pretty much just ride when there is enough shuttle. There is a dedicated vehicle and trailer for shuttling on "ride days".....basically when one of the TTC crew is up there. Simply sign the honor box waiver and deposit 10 dollar fee and your good to go. Dont hesitate to contact me. Hell, who wants to ride this weekend?????? I'll even ride up friday and do some "trail grooming"!

I'd also recommend the DH trail at monte sano in huntsville al. Its a shorter run but super fun and well built by two locals. Also, its the easiest shuttle around. Easiest push there is if you have to!

ok thats good to know, ill have to take you up on the offer for the tour of TTC, me and a buddy rode there one weekend a few months ago and had no clue where we were going or where all the trails are at but it was fun on the trails we found. Is the DH run in huntville at the state park down there?

just gimma call man. if you dont know where to go you surely missed all the good stuff, especially on big side. I may be going up this weekend just to do some trail work, if i knew some people were interested in coming i'd make a few calls and we would probly have a realy good crew together.......

the DH run at Monte Sano is at the state park. I believe they are actually making it an official trail real soon. The parking lot for the land trust is where you end up exiting. The name of the trail is Huck N Roll. There is a gravel hiking trail going from the land trust parking lot up to the trail head that you can push up if need be, its not a bad push at all. If you have not had the chance to ride it I would certainly recommend it. I really dig monte sano because you can bring both dh and xc/am bikes..... hit the dh run a few times then go ride some realy fun xc trails....
