I have sent an email to the forestry commission associated with Delamere Forest enquiring weather it would be acceptable for the community to get together and re-build and repair jumps/trails and possibly even build new ones in the forest.

I am looking for volunteers to come to Delamere on a set date(not yet decided) to help out with the process.

If you would like to get involved please leave your name plus how many people you would bring to help in a list like this;

1) Mike + 4 guests

I think tracs the bike shop by the visitor center is wanting to do the same thing

I live locally to delamere and i speak to alot of people at the jumps. What we have spoken about is, having a cafe by the entrence and have a fence round the bike park. This stops dogs and walkers coming in( i have almost ran over a couple because its a forest they don't keep thrm on leads) to get in via the cafe/shop.
When i speak to other bikers a bout building the thing they don't like is getting the tools there with ure bike so the bike shop has loads of tools which u can borrow and use and a refunderble amount so chavs don't nick them.
This way No walkers, No dogs, free tools to use so people can build which will keep them maintained. At the moment the four cross is completly bogged so unriderble as so everywinter so we need to vuild an all year round trail. If the four cross is looked after they could hold compertitions for young people like me (i am 14) to get into racing. It is a win win suituation which we should put forward to the foresty commision(the only reason they don't like the jumps is because they don't want the blame of someone) getting injured

Thanks
Tom stacey

Alright I know this is an old thread, but would be people actually be interested in building a large freeride style run - with 5 - 10 people digging it would be done within a few months and with regular maintenance could become a very good track
