Hey all,
Going to spend a few days up at Highland in Aug. Anyone know of decent place to stay? I'm not a camper or have a RV so campgrounds are not an option. There is a Holiday Inn close by and a bunch of B&Bs would like to hear from anyone that has stayed in any.
Thanks

Ummm....Well I know you said "I'm not a camper..." But camping really is your best option. There are a couple spots on the mountain that they allow you to camp at. Basically if you can find a spot to pitch a tent thats out of the way, they let you. That is by far the easiest, best way to go about it. They open the lodge at around 8ish and you can go in, brush your teeth, wash your hair in the sink, etc etc etc.

Other then that, you can always stay in your car? I've done that as well. But if you really wanna shell out the money/gas to stay at a hotel, all i can recomend is to avoid the Franklin/Northfield area. Its an old run down mill town with its fair share of night problems, if you catch my drift. Your best bet would be to drive back to Concord and stay there.

There's a Hampton Inn thats like 10 minutes away from Highland. When me and my dad go up for 2 day trips at highland thats where we stay.

Theres a great place right at the foot of the mtn. Its called the parking lot and you get drunk as fu@k in it. Problem solved.

But then you ride with a hangover and having been there, done that, it sucks.

The only way I'd sleep in the parking lot was if I had one of those houses on wheels! haha
