Hey guys,
Ive got a 2011 blank media and the headset bearings need replacing - i bought it used and there are barely any bearings in the headset.
I was just wondering if anybody knew what size ball races i need...i have tried contacting blank but no reply.
i know i need 1-1/8 but there are different sized bearings.
any help please,
dom

yeah cause that was helpful,

usually all headset bearings are the same size but u do get the exception of a few, the headset on your bike is a pressfit unsealed headset and to prevent this happening to your headset again you want to invest in a fully sealed headset BUT it has to be a pressfit headt (one with cups that press into the frame), a fully sealed one is around £30, might sound alot but its wroth it to have a headset that will last! Smile, hope this helped.

Ta mate, been riding for almost 3 years now but mtb, only just got into bmx but I do understand all the threaded, non threaded, 1", 1 1/8", sealed, non sealed etc, I'm just running a cheap bmx and if I get into it I'll upgrade, Ive never ran unsealed/ballrace headsets and I know there are individual different sized bearings but if I just get two 1 1/8" ballraces I will be fine?

Do I buy a race that's listed as for 1 1/8 headset or BMX headset?

I'm not sure if BMX headsets are different frrom other 1-1/8" headsets. But just bring your bike to any bike shop. Most shops keep headsets in stock because they sell a lot of them.
