basically i have a fixie, the forks are really high so you cant fit a normal brake on the front, i was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of a fixed gear bike with a front disk that is still capable of barspins. it will all work, its just finding long forks that have a disk mount and a wheel or hub that i can run on my fixie with a brake. oh and btw this is my bike,
http://www.mafiabike.com/manhattan/manhattan.html for the price its f*cking sick, no problems with it yet and it gets ridden pretty hard.

There's a guy on here who converted his fixed gear to a front disc brake. Will try and find him.

I'm guessing a disc CX/Cyclocross fork will fit. You can get light alu ones if you look around. Guessing yours is hi-ten at the mo?

I've converted my pompetamine to fixed with disc front. I brought hope hoop 29er wheel and Planet X Kaffenback fork. You are best to look for a 29er front wheel. I can't help with your barspinz though.

Not an expert, but couldn't he use a gyro?

just had a look at the spec. If your forks at the minute can barspin then look for forks with 32mm offset.

i was thinking this, but it would involve drilling the frame, and seeing as its a front brake i just need a different top cap and bolt then just run the cable through the forks.

if your fork is high enough, i think you could try buying a top cap that allows you to route you brake cable through your stem so you wouldn't have to worry about getting tangled. i know bontrager makes forks with disk brake mounts

Hello. It's me, the disc break guy. Youre in luck - i have the chrome deep v wheels with front sealed disc compatable hub at the front. Sadly I've sold the forks. Hit me.

The forks were fire eye stokers, customed where I work. Allwe did was grind off the v brake bosses, and drill a hole for the brake cable to thread through.
