HI i used to live around this way and wondered if there are any trail etc local as im considering a trip back for old times sake,and it would be good to bring a bike.....
Yea was there two weeks ago behind the Z-Station in Kumeu (Weza Lane) but adjusting my forks stopped my trip early and I ended up in Middlemore hospital with surgery---
There are pretty awesome trails in between the odd stoner and weird people... Pretty sick trails, and you can freely make your own most of the time. Theres pump tracks, dh tracks, even some north shore stuff in the trees- although I did them once, I went back but I couldn't find the spots...
