Hi!

Need assistance as well...

Received a Kona Stinky 6 frame and was informed it came with a 135x9 QR rear hub.

Would a 135x10 QR rear hub work on this frame?

Thank you in advance!

There is no 135x9 QR, it's 135x10 QR Smile

i had standard QR rear wheel and had built a Hope hub with a 10mm thru axle or "saint" axle as it was also labelled. I'm 99% sure the Zee set up you are looking at will be the same and work.

I did have a bit of drama with the 10mm thick skewer nestling into the drop-out. it was a snug fit and the mech hanger got muscled about which stressed single small bolt holding it on. So keep an eye on that. you might need to shape the dropouts a little with a file to get more sustainable interface.

I have this problem with using a 135x12 to 10mm step down axle on my On-One 45650b frame. The axle is tight and awkward to fit in the dropouts, the hanger side is worse as the dropout is tighter as the non removable hanger bends forward making the gap smaller.
The Hope 135x10 bolt on axle would work better as the frame sits on the bolts and not the axle, but that means replacing the axle and removing the and refitting the bearings. Also I don't like the idea of the frame sitting on the bolts.

O+

You will have to get new end caps for your hub to go from 142 x 12 to 135 x 12. Not 100% sure if Shimano makes them for your wheel but these are not pieces you can buy aftermarket, so Shimano is your only way forward. You may also be able to get 135 x 10 or 135 QR end caps which would allow for other mounting options.

135 x 12 would be the ideal in your case. Once you get the end caps you can then buy a step down axle (12mm to 10mm) from anywhere and it should work. Loaded Components makes a nice one that worked well for me.
