Hello... I get this pain in my knee when I ride my bike... the more I pedal and the longer I ride the more I feel pain..

Is it because of lake of calcium or something?

and when I move my knee around it seems as if it's cracking ... or something's moving... it's strange

any ideas?

Could be cartilage damage. See a doctor if you can, if you ignore it or don't look after it properly it will get a lot worse.

Is your seat at the proper height?

actually dairy is very irritating to our system so I would not eat more dairy. Dairy and wheat will add to any inflammation. I do agree though that It may be your seat height, you only want a slight bend in your knee at full extension. It also depends on the condition of your muscles and tendons. If you are riding regularly and you have the proper seat height and the pain continues, you should see an orthopedic.

Hmmm.. Yeah maybe your right... the seat isn't bend at all.. i'll try that after two weeks because I am resting... I fell the other day and my lumber spine muscles had a trauma..i didn't fall straight on my spine .. just fell hard lol.. I just finished my X-Rays and it's all good.. nothing is wrong with the discs .. but man... pain is there .. PAIN IS THERE ALRIGHT! Razz

To properly adjust your seat height you'll want your leg to be straight when you're sitting on the seat and the heel of your foot is on the pedal. Fine tune from there.

you dont want your leg straight you want about a 25 degree bend in your knee.

No, when your heel is on the pedal you want it straight, so when your foot is in an actual riding position it's got the bend.

The seat's got nothing to do with my knee... Razz i tried to change it and it didn't work...
So i'll go see a doctor or end up buying a knee support... because it keeps cracking with every push.

I'll let you know what will happen next Big Grin

I read an interesting article online by James Wilson who says knee and lower back pain is caused by overuse of the quads without strengthening other supporting muscles. You can read the article here:

Hopefully that helps!

First thing to do is make an appointment to see a physician. It could be a number of mechanical issues directly related to injury, overuse, or muscular imbalances.

A cracking or popping knee could be an injury to the meniscus, if you have ever experienced an excruciatingly painful locking of the knee this may be a clear indicator of a meniscus tear. Similar symptoms may also be a mechanical issue related top patellar tracking.

As you and others have mentioned, go see your doc and see what he has to say.

I have had my fair share of knee issues, and It is prob best to see a doctor. However, being careful not to overwork your knee when it's inflamed is a good idea. Also, question for you, clipless or flats?
