I have seen some badass builds online, but still haven't got to ride one.

Gave my Standard a make over. It rides great and looks killer. Weighed in just under 23 pounds.

That color looks super sick, was it custom?

I'm thinking about getting a custom standard 26 with either a 23.75 or 24" tt length. I'm 6'6 and could definitely use the extra length.

I currently ride a '12 sant cruz jackal long. The website says its got a 23.5" tt but it definitely feels short. I'm wondering if qt hey have it listed at the effective tt instead of the actual.

Any thoughts on this custom? Would it be too long?

That Santa Cruz most likely is measured by effective top tube.

Actual top tube length is measured from center of head tube to center of seat tube. Normally 21.5 is Small, 22" is Medium, 22.5" is Large and 23" is XL.

I think your idea for a custom long frame would work. Check out this where I was comparing the Killswitch to the Mob. The Killswitch is extra long but it still works.

I found the comparison that you did to be very informative... Also, a link on that thread was helpful to show which dimensions are most important for a street/DJ bike (since you are standing).

I think I am going to order the standard 26" with a custom 24" tt. I will definitely post pictures when I get the frame. Could be a while before I have the cash together though.

What gold bars are those on your killswitch? They look really sick. Are they 3" rise?

So what is the "actual" top tube measurement on your Santa Cruz?

Have you tried a longer stem. On my old dirt jumper I ended up using a Race Face 70mm reach DH stem with 10 degree rise instead of the 40mm reach DJ stem with zero rise. It makes a big difference; you may wanna try that before getting a new frame.

The color is trans copper. Its a custom color I did myself with the help of a friend but I am sure Standard would do any color you want. I have had them do other custom colors for me in the past and I just supplied the powder to their powder guy and he took it from there. Standard will make you any top tube length you want as well. The production frames come is 21.5" 22" and 23".

I measured the actual tt (from center of head tube to center of seat tube) and its 22.75". Is the that how you measure the actual tt?

I understand your idea of running a longer stem but the problem is my knee can touch the stem/headset because the tt is too short. I would actually prefer running an extra long tt with a short stem to get the desired distance. It would probably be helpful for turndowns and I would like to learn barspins eventually.

I recently saw a post for a company called stout bikes. I checked them out and am now more interested in getting a custom stout than a standard byke frame. I still won't make a purchase for a while but ill definitely post pictures if I do get a custom frame.
