How do you switch your springs on a totem?

hi there,

i have a rockshox totem coil and it feels just a little too stiff however i do have a yellow spring aside for it which i got when i bought it i was just wondering how do i change the spring on them? and can i do it without ruining the fork??
do you just unscrew the top cap take the old spring out and put the new spring in?

also it has stanchion wear on one leg how do i go about fixing it? take it to my lbs and ask them to service it or something?? it's not doing anything bad at the moment aside from being a little black where the wear is after a ride which can easily be rubbed off but i fear it is slowly doing damage on the inside?
