Is there anyone that weighs ~85kg with a Sender who has successful tuned a Fox X2 Float Air or Coil? i have read many Sender reviews and haven't found a review by a 85kg rider that has commented on having the rear suspension dialed.

i'm 95kg and it was dialed this summer, now i have to send it to canyon to be changed.

You're lucky you didn't break the plastic part in the process. I hit mine on a rock and it broke, rendering the rear derailleur useless. A change to a fully housed cable sorted that out.

Care to share how you managed to do that?

How did you thread a fully housed cable when the existing exit hole for the RD appeared to be only small enough for the inner cable?

Phil

I already moved the reverb remote from RHS of the bar to LHS, so all I did was then also move the Reverb cable from the LHS to the RHS of the top tube and then put the full outer cable through the previous Reverb hole.

Been toying with the idea of rerouting the reverb remote line too. Is it the metal-encased cable running inside the frame? How is this line secured at the headtube's end?

Hi everybody, I would like to change in the Strive CF the reverb cable from up right to down left and change the hole on the headtube from the cable comes out. Is there any suggestion how to do it?

In the end I fell for a blue M Strive Race CF9.0 Rolleyes Rolleyes paid today...

As far as I have read I should check and fill the bearings with grease, and do the same with the fork/oil etc... any other hint?

Cheers!

Congrats Smile That should about cover it, my Fox had no oil in one leg and about 5cc in the other so check that out, it was the same on my last bike with Fox 40s.

Thank you very much!

Is the CANYON STRIVE PRESSTOOL useful for CF9.0 Fox shock? I just found out about its existence and I don´t know if I should add it to the order now, to avoid having to order it afterwards.

Cheers!

I swap my rear shock to RS Monarch...
loved the rebound adjust knob on RS monarch vs the Fox float x rear shocks

Mine should be here soon as well.....I really wasnt planning on stripping the bike to make sure its greased appropriately but it seems as though i may need to...Are we talking about absolutely all moving parts here or just say the suspension pivots?

I was also under the impression you needed specialist tools to refill the fork with oil so not sure I will be doing that

It depends on how much you want/like to mess with tools and your bike. I particularly like it a lot, so I don´t mind trying to reach to all of the bearings I can, take their lids off with a razor blade, pin etc..., pack them with grease, and put the lid back. This bike´s bearings are known to come a little dry and also suffer from your wetter weather (I live in the Canary Islands and very rarely wash the bike with a pressure hose).

For the fox forks, they sometimes come with less oil than they should, and it is not very hard to check-refill:

You just need to follow this video up to 1:40 (drain the oil and check how much came in), and then jump to minute 2:50

The only special tools are the "damper removal tools", but you can work your way around being gentle, or using a generic washer and hitting the washer instead of the damper etc...

What are the tools we need to remove bearings to regrease? grease recommendations? I figure if I get the strive i'll also double check the forks and bearings!

There are many videos on repacking sealed bearings like this:

I use Teflon Finish Line grease, because it is the one I have now, but I guess that any thick grease should do... I have not received the bike, but I guess there is no need to extract them in order to grease them.

HI al. After some advice. I am removing the reverb and replacing with a fox transfer on my Strive CF9. I have searched this thread for information on the cable tube that the reverb is in, but can't find the answer.

Is the tube full length, i.e. can I just push the new housing into this tube and it will feed all the way up to the seat post, or will it be better to trail some string etc behind when I remove the reverb?

Thanks

So got my new 2016 Canyon strive CF team and looks amazing in the flesh....A few things I noted though

1) No adaptor valve for shapeshifter was included but canyon are sending straight away

2) a few mm of vertical play in the reverb...Spoke to Canyon and they told me that up to 5mm of vertical travel is within Rockshox tolerance so this is supposed to be normal...I have to admit, I dont know what "normal" is as ive never used a reverb but if it gets worse with time i suppose it then becomes an obvious problem. Would appreciate your comments on this

3) chain drops 2-3 cogs when pedalling backwards on the largest cog on the cassette (42t)... Not a massive issue as ill never be pedalling backwards when in that gear but I still told canyon and they told me its failry normal when having a rear cassette of this size

Problem is im not going to be able to ride the bike for a few weeks but Im hoping all will be well especially with regards to teh reverb as I dont want any hassle of dismantled stuff and getting repairs at such an early stage!

otherwise happy and like I said bike looks great in the flesh
