BOXXER Race 2010 Compression Adjust Stuck

The compression adjust dial is stuck solid on my 2010 boxxer race forks. I'm no bike mechanic so I'm fairly reluctant to dive in and pull the whole thing apart. I've only gone as far as removing the cap and greasing the top of the screw. It was briefly turning a few clicks in either direction but has ceased again.

any help would be great
