Chain reaction is notorious for putting the info for a different size under the actual product they sell... Heck they put the pick for a full single speed raceface chester with a ring- but they were only selling it without the ring. Bought it anyways but...
• Tire Size: 20x1.75 ---------------- it is not 26'' that weight is for 20''..........26'' wheights around 800 or 1k as i remember • TPI:60 • Max PSI:60 • Weight:425g • Durometer: 70a
they will send you 26'' but it will be twice as heavy
I know this thread is a little bit old, but I think I'll be better off posting here than by starting a new thread. I don't have lot experience with tyres, and i wonder how important the side wall thickness is if you don't grind? I've recently come across the Schwalbe Rocket Ron at an incredible 445 grams (for the 24x2.1 version), but Schwalbes website specifies that the side walls are really thin. Is it worth a shot for no-grind-riding? Or are the KHE Mac2 tyres a superior choice here?
Note that I'm looking for a 24 inch tyre. I know there are a lot more options for 26 inch.
Rocket Ron is too knobby for street. You will lose grip since the knobs can't dig themselves into concrete, and will start to crawl away slowly underneath you in corners.
Thin sidewalls depends on your riding style, but if you have enough pressure in your tyres it should be alright for almost all riders. I would recommend to run at least 5 bars, preferably even rather around 6.
Then you have nothing to worry about. The KHEs are great tyres. I've had them on many of my bikes. From my 24" street machine, to my FGFS, and I even use them in my XC commuter bike. Only downside about the tyres I could find during these years of riding is that they are a bit pricey. But that extra money spent will give you the extra quality you pay for.
