Before people start telling me to use search.. I have, and there isn't a great deal of recent threads relating to this.

I'm about 6'4" and have a NS metropolis, I believe this is the same frame as a suburban?

However it feels quite small, I intend to change or sell this bike and build another, possibly using parts I already have.

I know the forks only have 80mm travel, I was thinking about switching to Pikes to try and decide on a height that would be most comfortable.

I was also looking at the Dartmoor 26 player, obviously with 26" wheels?

how do you think this would suit me and what other frames would you suggest?

do you think the 26" wheels will make much difference?

why dont you try something like octane one void but with 24s? The void is sort of a short frame for 26 inch, but its going to feel longer on 24s for sure. I think ive seen it done on here.

I don't have to use the existing metropolis I could build a new bike with 26"s if it makes a difference.

I was just wondering if anyone has been in my position and what set up caters better to taller people.

Thanks for the reply i will look into the octane 1 void, does having a 26" frame with 24s on make it feel longer?

A friend of mine is about 6'3" or 6'4" and he rides the Transition Trail or Park 23"tt. It feels great. Because the Trail or Park has a lower bottom bracket than some DJ bikes, it means that you will feel more "in" the bike, and it's better for taller riders.

This is his:

Also, you could run taller bars. I run the 4" rise Immortis Bucket bmx bars. I know I could ride 3"s with the stem spacered up (which I have done) but I just like the look :

How do 24"s make a bike feel longer? Your feet and hands are still in the same place !

its practically longer than a 24 inch specific frame so its gonna feel better imo.

Oh, I get what you're saying: use a frame designed for 26"s.

Do you ride a metro 1 or 2/3? 1 has proof bars, 2/3 have mint bars.

Don't know if there is a major difference between these though in the way it feels.

I'm a shrimp, 5'2" but I have done this.
felt. like. ass. The 26" on my smaller frame was amazing and a new bike was built because of that, it is a Void. It seems like a small 26" frame.
But the 24"s on the big frame just felt wrong and weird. I was not the only one to ride it and say the same thing, we were varying heights and skill levels. Bike had a few runs done, but it was so awkward it just sat around for the couple weeks it was like that.

I'm 6' 2" and I'm riding a small eastern nighttrain. My knees used to hit the handlebars a lot but I got a top load stem and 4" ride bars and that helps. But just get anything but with the longest top tube length possible.
With that and as high of handlebars as possible u should fit almost any frame

I'm 6'7" have had a few different dj builds 24sevens, an NS suburban, and more recently a yeti dj long - which seems pretty sweet so far, definitely plenty long enough, though an extra inch or the seat tube wouldn't go a miss!

Norco rampage feels roomy at 6' 2"

Flame on for bike choice, but they feel good to me... I'm 6'2" and ride a SE Filth and an Azonic Steelhead xl. Bar and stem offset can make a big difference IMHO on an other wise cramped feeling bike.
the SE is 21.25 and the Azonic is 22.75 I believe btw. to illistrate how to different tt lengths can both feel good.
