Can you replace a gyro headset for a normal headset?

I'm in the process of customising my BMX, and I currently have a gyro headset and brake system. If I buy a linear headset and a new brake system (considering I need new brakes anyway), will it fit on any bike?

Yes you can as long as its the right size to fit the head tube, but you can change it from regular to gyro because you need tabs for the cables.
