(Mulch jump) woodchip jump HELP

Hi guys, ive got jumps in my garden and was thinking of getting a mulch jump, this might sound stupid but is there a certain type of woodchips you need? One of my friends said it would be better to get bark woodchips instead of regular woodchips? Can someone please tell me?
